Marie-Claude has combined a dual university education in environment and finance to cultivate an expertise in climate finance. With over 15 years of relevant experience in the sector, she began her career as an international climate finance consultant for Global Consult and EcoRessources, guiding governments and the private sector on international climate change policies and climate change financingmodels, namely on mitigation projectsrelated to forestry and renewable energies in Central and West Africa. She worked as Director of Operations and VP Development for the One Drop Foundation, a foundation that has a portfolio of water and sanitation infrastructure projects in 13 countries in Africa, Latin America and in Asia. She was responsible for fundraising and strategic partnerships with the public, private and institutional sectors. She developed financial structures aimed at maximizing the leverage potential to increase the social and environmental impact of projects. She then served as the first Executive Director of the Greater Montreal Climate Fund, an organization funded by the federal government and private funds whose mission is to provide funding to catalyze low-carbon solutions in the Greater Montreal areawith priority areas in building energy efficiency and transportation electrification. She is now a senior consultant at Baastel, a Canadian-owned international development consulting firm with more then 30 years of experience in sustainable development.

She holds a BA (Geography) from Bishop’s University, a MA (Environment) from Simon Fraser University and atMBA (Finance) from the John Molson School of Business.

She is a board member of the Canadian Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID).
