Axel Zabo, CFA, is an investment professional with close to a decade of experience in development finance. He has worked with institutions like the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), helping to shape investments that drive real change across West Africa. His work has helped small businesses gain access to much-needed capital, supported rural communities through climate-smart agriculture, and expanded financial services for people who have traditionally been excluded from the banking system.

Over the years, Axel has helped structure and finance more than 15 projects worth over US$ 500 million, spanning infrastructure, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and financial inclusion. His work has taken him across Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Cape Verde, where he has collaborated with governments, financial institutions, and development partners to bring impactful projects to life.

A CFA® Charterholder and a Statistician Economist Engineer (Master's) from ENSEA - Abidjan, Axel believes in using investment as a force for positive impact—directly improving thousands of lives and fostering economic development. He is always looking for ways to ensure capital is not just deployed efficiently but also responsibly, creating long-term opportunities for the people and communities that need it most.

Splitting his time between Edmonton and Lomé, Axel works seamlessly in both French and English and thrives in multicultural, bilingual environments. His passion for impact-driven investment reflects a broader vision of economic empowerment, sustainability, and long-term resilience for communities across Sub-Saharan Africa.
